Big At Heart - National Day Gratitude Card Project
This National day, let’s send our love and support to our front-liners who have been fighting at the forefront of COVID19 for us for the last 18 months. They have also faced discrimination & exclusion. Sometimes even xenophobia and racism. Yet stood strong between us and the pandemic.

Let us show them that we care, we value, and we are grateful.
In support of SG Together, Big at Heart is joining in a project to show our appreciation for our frontline workers in Singapore. We need your help in creating up to 25000 Thank You cards.
So, how many cards can you make? PLEDGE & SEND YOUR CONTRIBUTION by 12th August 2021. Your cards should reach us by 16th August 2021.
Do you wish to make something more crafty than simple cards, but do not know how to?
Fret not. We had organised a virtual workshop where participants learnt to make 2 types of artistic cards.

Alternate ways to contribute
Can't help by pledging the cards? You can help still. We appeal you to donate for the logistics and material costs of this project instead.
FAQs:

-
What should be the size of the card?
The card should be A5 (5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inches, 148 x 210 mm) in size after folding. If you make a card out of an A4 paper, it will come to this size.
-
What material can I use for making this card?
Please use a A4 drawing block paper to make your card. Alternatively, a 130 to 250 gsm paper will be ideal. We will be happiest if you use or recycled material in your home. Please do not use the printer paper.
-
I can make a nice card but don’t know what to write inside. Can you help?
Here are some sample messages. The card recipients are public health workers, hawkers, food delivery riders and safe distancing ambassadors. Let your messages be towards them. Also keep them brief, kind and neutral. The messages will be vetted by the organisers. Any cards with inappropriate or unsuitable messages will be discarded.
-
Can I use all 4 sides of the card?
Yes. You can.
-
Any other pointers I should remember while making my card?
Yes. Write the messages in ENGLISH. Do not use any other language or script. DO NOT USE any religious symbols or texts or images. Keep the card religiously neutral. Also avoid sticking any decorations that may fall off during handling or transportation. Keep the card gender neutral as well. Avoid using "she/her, he/his". Please use "you/your".
-
Can I write my name and age on the card?
You may if you are comfortable. We request you to avoid adding any more details other than your name. You can add the age of the creator if it is going to add value. e.g., If a child has made the card or a senior has made the card, mentioning the age will create an additional feeling of warmth for the recipient.
-
Do I have to send just the card or insert it in an envelope too?
Please just send the card. We will add it into a standard envelope at our end.
-
Do I HAVE TO MAKE the card based on the design taught at the workshop?
No. You can make a simple card with a nice message too. Please avoid making odd shaped, thick, heavy or fragile designs. These will pose difficulties in logistics and may get damaged in the process.
-
I missed attending the workshop. Can I see the video of the workshop so I can follow the same designs?
Yes. You can refer to the video here.
-
Where can I send the cards?
After you submit your pledge, you will receive an email with 9 island-wide collection points. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not see it in your inbox. Both contactless physical delivery as well as SingPost/GrabExpress/Lalamove delivery are fine. The cards need to reach us by Monday 16th August 2021. Ignore these instructions if you are sending the cards through your organization or school.
-
Who will bear the cost of material and postage?
You – the creators of the cards – will have to bear the cost of material and sending the cards over.
-
Can I gather my friends, colleagues or family and pledge as a group?
We appreciate it if you can spread this pledge around and do it in groups.
-
I know some Organizations who may be keen to participate in this as institutions. How do I go about it?
Please connect them to us at bigatheart2020@gmail.com or Asmita +65 8168 6142 Nalini +65 9295 7000 Alternatively, they submit a pledge as an organization using the same link given above.
